Best Practices for Facebook Open Graph Meta Tags

  1. Blog Post Title: You should write your blog post title with not more than 70 characters. By default, Blogger post titles are not SEO friendly since post titles contain blog title that is not good for characters limit as well as SEO. Here is complete guide to make your Blogger post title SEO friendly.
  2. Blog Post Description: Here, characters limit is upto 160. You should write informative & subjective description to each Blogger post
  3. Blog Post Featured Image: The first image you are using in your Blogger post is currently a featured image. The image size is also important when you want to display large image on social media sites. You should try to avoid images less than 200px X 200px as a featured image. The best practic to use a better featured image is to use an aspect ratio of 1.91:1. I recommend you to use featured image of width 640px or 600px, and respectively height 640/1.91= 335px or 600/1.91=315px.

Conclusion: Facebook open graph meta tags help to sync our blog post data for Facebook. You can notify to Facebook that which image is your featured thumbnail, who is the author of the article etc. Your Facebook shares can be more engaging by using proper open graph meta tags.
